In 2009, twelve Simon & Schuster titles were named New York Times "Notable Books of the Year", and three books, Half Broke Horses by Jeanette Walls, A Short History of Women by Kate Walbert in fiction, and Raymond Carver: A Life by Carole Sklenica were selected for the "10 Best Books of 2009 list."

On April 27, 2008, Simon & Schuster set a company single-week record with 31 simultaneous New York Times bestsellers.

In 2007, Simon & Schuster partnered with TurnHere to launch the bookvideos.tv internet channel, becoming the first publisher to systematically employ internet videos as a means of marketing our books and authors.
